What is Morpheus8?
Morpheus8 is a new cutting-edge fractional device that combines microneedling and radio frequency to remodel and contour your face and body. This treatment penetrates deep into your skin and fat resulting in a smoother and sleeker appearance. Morpheus8 has the ability to penetrate deeper into the skin than any other microneedling device, going as deep as 4mm plus another 1mm of tissue heating. This treatment is a minimally invasive, safe, non-surgical option for sub-dermal adipose remodelling and tightening the skin. Not only does Morpheus8 help with collagen remodelling and tightening of the skin, but will also break down superficial fat that accumulates as we age creating a saggy appearance most commonly noticed in the lower face, neck, and often the knees.
What areas can be treated?
Morpheus8 can be used on any areas of the body that can benefit from sub-dermal renewal. The most commonly treated areas include the lower face and neck. Areas of the face and body that exhibit wrinkles, discolouration or acne scarring are ideal for treatment.

What to expect during the procedure:
45 minutes to an hour before your treatment, a topical numbing cream will be applied to your skin to reduce any discomfort.
Many patients describe the treatment as a feeling of pressure, a pinching sensation and heat to follow, but generally tolerable. The treatment typically takes 30 to 45 minutes, depending on the number and sizes of areas being treated
Results
For optimal results we recommend 3-4 treatments. Number of treatments required is dependent upon treatment goals and the patients current skin condition. Visible results can start to be seen within a few weeks, but typically the most noticeable results appear after three months.
The results of Morpheus8 are long term and can last for years, but it’s important to invest in your new healthy skin by using a regular skin maintenance program of medical grade skincare, treatments such as Tripolar radiofrequency or IPL and daily application of SPF 30+.
Post treatment:
Follow the instructions on the Alumier post recovery kit that will be provided on the day of the procedure.
Daily SPF application (SPF 30 or higher) is mandatory for the first 4 weeks following treatment and should continue indefinitely into the future. Apply SPF on top of other topicals.
If you are prone to cold sores a prophylactic can be prescribed and will need to be started the day before your treatment.
If bruising is a concern, Arnica tablets can be taken starting the day of treatment.

The combined technologies work both internally and externally as a synergistic skin and muscle treatment which stimulates the contraction of the SMAS (Superficial muscular aponeurotic system) in the face. This results in tightening of the skin and re-energizing the skin’s collagen.

What is Radiofrequency Skin Tightening?
These are treatments using radio frequency to consistently and uniformly heat the skin from the inside out, without the threat of laser burns. The collagen fibres heat up resulting in skin tightening. They are non-invasive and painless, with many patients comparing the treatment to a hot-stone massage! The treatment is also very quick and effortless.
How does the science behind Radiofrequency skin tighening work?
Skin tightening occurs because the multi-polar radio frequency causes a thermal response in the tissue which activates the body`s natural healing response. That healing response causes new collagen to form, new elastin fibers and the production of fibroblasts to increase. The existing collagen in the skin contracts (this causes the skin to look and feel firmer) and the elastin fibers unravel (which makes the skin more elastic).
Is there any pain or discomfort involved?
None! In fact, most patients nap or just simply relax during the treatment. The sensation is absolutely pleasant and warm.
Are there any contraindications or side effects?
Radio Frequency has been used for many years in medicine and are proven, safe technologies. There are no side effects other than looking terrific and the contraindications are standard with all treatments. Your treatment provider will review your medical history and your aesthetic goals to see if this is the right treatment for you.
How many treatments will I need?
To obtain optimal results, we recommend 6 treatments for the face or neck. It is not uncommon that patients continue to see an improvement in their skin up to three months after the series of treatments is complete.
Is everyone a good candidate for Radiofrequency skin tightening?
Yes, unless there is a contraindication which your technician has advised you otherwise. Realistic expectations and a desire to look better are all you need.
How do I maintain the results?
After your treatment series you will require maintenance treatments to ensure that you keep the aging process at bay. While the minimum treatments needed to maintain your result are one treatment once every season (4 treatments a year), we find that many patients like to come back as often as once a month because they love the treatments and the results. Discuss with your treatment provider what the best treatment plan is for your skin.
How will I feel after a treatment?
Relaxed and the area will feel warm. Sometimes there is a slight pinkness to the skin. The warmth and pinkness will not last longer than an hour and most often has been described as a glow to the skin.
What is it like to have a treatment?
As you lay comfortably on a treatment bed, the technician will apply a treatment gel to the skin. This lotion helps the applicator glide on the surface of your skin. The correct size applicator is selected and the treatment provider will then begin to apply smooth and consistent movements on the surface of the skin. This feels like a wonderful warm massage. We encourage our patients to close their eyes and take this time to just relax and enjoy the quiet and focused time for them.
Is there any downtime? Can treatments be done on a lunch hour?
Absolutely! A treatment to one area takes 30-45 minutes and you can apply makeup right after if you like.
